So after our adventure at the aquarium we decided it was time to double down and take them swimming the next day
Water water everywhere (part 1)
The next couple of days we really ramped up the activities and stress levels. We were going to be taking them out all day and we had been given some suggestions and foolishly we thought they were good ideas - how naive we were :-). So taking them to a large aquarium and busy public … Continue reading Water water everywhere (part 1)
Day 4 – we were on our own…
So after the success of day 3 (no lost children and only one dent), we were eager to get to day 4, where we would be taking them out to a country park..... on our own........ We were excited and terrified in equal measures, as we would in affect be 'proper parents' taking two kids … Continue reading Day 4 – we were on our own…
Day 3 – Out and about
So we were now rushing to day 3. This was a special day (aren't they all...) as we were going to be taking the children out into the wild for the first time...well the local play park.

So there we were, sitting in a hotel room 10 miles and 12 hours away from finally meeting our kids - tomorrow was the day we have been waiting for all our lives (or so it seems at this point). Our journey had given us much to contemplate.... the highs and lows, including training, interviews … Continue reading Hello, pleased to meet you, I am your daddy….
The final preparation for kids….
So there we were, with an introduction plan to finally meet our children confirmed (ish) and the final steps to start our real journey (everything before now seems so unimportant - although at the time it feels the world). We had a few weeks between the panel and the introduction, which was filled with the … Continue reading The final preparation for kids….
An introductory BUMP!
So after our second 'successful' panel, we were ushered into a tiny airless (and windowless) room to discuss the introduction plan.
Grilled Panel with a Side of Questions
So we were invited to the second panel session. This was the serious one (gulp), as it was the one that actually decided if we were the right people to adopt these specific children, who we were now invested in....(despite what we may say out loud). Everything rested on this meeting. Our social workers were … Continue reading Grilled Panel with a Side of Questions
